Tamiflu Update - May 2010
Tamiflu dosing administration update for hospitals - 5 June 2009

Paediatric Dosing
There have been several questions regarding use of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) in infants less than 12 months of age. It is noted that the current TGA product approval and information of oseltamivir is for children greater than 1 year of age. Information on this issue can be read in an opinion from the European Medicines Agency website at: http://www.emea.europa.eu/humandocs/PDFs/EPAR/tamiflu/27883809en.pdf. Alternatively enquiries could be directed to major paediatric hospitals in your jurisdiction (for example in Victoria at the Royal Children’s Hospital information can be found at http://www.rch.org.au/clinicalguide/cpg.cfm?doc_id=12820) . It should be noted that the current oseltamivir (Tamiflu) suspension provides an oral syringe which is calibrated in 30, 45, 60 and 75 mg dosages, should smaller doses be required a normal 3 or 5 mL syringe should be provided.
