SHPA is the only professional pharmacy organisation with an especially strong base of members practising in hospitals and other facilities. SHPA members are interested in care delivery for consumers aligned with our mission statement: “Excellence in medicines management through leading edge pharmacy practice and research”.

SHPA specialises in advocacy for the professional interests of hospital pharmacists and technicians, as well as those delivering a full range of professional pharmacy services across the entire health system. SHPA will support you throughout your career, no matter where that may lead. Membership of SHPA will assist you to keep up to date with the latest in leading edge pharmacy practice via continuing education lectures, clinical seminars and conferences.

SHPA has recently launched an online recording system for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities to help members meet the new Pharmacy Board of Australia CPD requirements for re-registration.  Download an information sheet. 

The Certified Geriatric Pharmacist credential (available in Australia only through SHPA) may be used to become accredited to undertake Australian Government-funded medication management reviews.
