This seminar will provide an overview of identification and management of drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food and drug-gene interactions. The content presented will assist pharmacists in determining how drugs interact, whether they are clinically relevant interactions that should be brought to the prescriber’s attention and warrant therapeutic drug monitoring and where to find the most current and applicable resources
As part of SHPA's Residency Symposium, SHPA is bringing to Australia Ms Beth Ward.
Beth's presentation will outline the UK experience of embedding advanced practice recognition into UK practice. Given Australian competency frameworks such as the APPF have primarily been based on UK models then the UK experience is highly relevant to Australia and SHPA members.
This symposium will cover some of the core knowledge and skills around IV therapy, essential for pharmacists working in the acute care setting. The morning will be made up of both didactic and workshop style teaching sessions, presented by fantastic local and interstate speakers. Topics covered will include intravenous fluids, electrolyte replacement, total parenteral nutrition and intravenous access devices. We look forward to seeing you all there!
