Under the auspices of the Australian Pharmacy Council, SHPA may accredit continuing professional development (CPD) for pharmacists. Accredited CPD activities must meet the requirements outlined within the Pharmacy Board of Australia’s guidelines to the CPD Registration Standard.
CPD events that are accredited by SHPA may display the APC logo within the dedicated accreditation section of the promotional material for the event. A unique accreditation number (assigned by SHPA) must be displayed on all accredited activities adjacent to the APC CPD logo.
In the dedicated accreditation section of any promotional material and/or educational material, the accreditation number and the following words (or similar adaptations) will be displayed:
‘The material in this program has been accredited for x hours of Group x CPD (or x CPD credits) suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan.’
To obtain accreditation for your educational event please read the fees and terms for accreditation of CPD activities, then complete an application for accreditation of continuing professional development. This application form elicits information to allow SHPA to determine whether an activity is suitable to be accredited by SHPA as being appropriate for consideration for an individual pharmacist's CPD plan.
Please allow up to 4 weeks to receive the outcome of your application.
The following evaluation forms are a minimum requirement for the evaluation of an accredited activity and may be used in conjunction with other forms of assessment e.g. additional questions, telephone in-depth interviews or surveys. An evaluation report for all accredited events must be submitted to SHPA within four weeks of conducting an accredited activity.
Formal complaints regarding CPD events or activities conducted or accredited by SHPA should be documented using the SHPA Continuing Professional Development Complaint (CPD) Complaint Form.
