Extension Seminar in Kidney Disease and Transplantation

Registrations for the SHPA Extension Seminar in Kidney Disease and Transplantation are now closed! If you still want to register for this event, please email education@shpa.org.au.

The Extension Seminar in Kidney Disease and Transplantation is designed to extend your knowledge and strengthen your practical skills in care for patients with kidney diseases.  The seminar will examine guidelines and evidence for the clinical management for these patients in practice, alongside fostering multidisciplinary collaborative management to deliver high quality patient care.

The seminar will cover topics including Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and common comorbidities, managing complications in transplantation, problem solving in dialysis, interpersonal skills and other challenges in patient care.  Virtual integrated case studies in small breakout groups will allow attendees to actively apply learnt knowledge, draw on examples from their workplaces, and engage in discussion with other attendees and experienced tutors.  The program is facilitated by experienced pharmacist, medical and allied health and presenters and tutors in the field of kidney care.

This seminar is targeted at pharmacists with more than 5 years of clinical experience, those who work in a specialty kidney or transplant ward, and pharmacists practising in other clinical areas who are frequently involved in the care of kidney disease patients or longer stay CKD patients.

The self-paced learning package comprises approximately 6 hours of learning material and will be available from mid February 2023.  The live virtual component of this seminar will take place on Saturday 4 March 2023.  The self-paced learning package materials must be completed prior to attending the live virtual seminar.

Please note: all attendees will have 18 weeks of access to the seminar self-paced learning package and resources from your date of enrolment into this page.  Enrolment details will be sent to registered attendees when available.
