The shpaclinCAT seminar is designed for pharmacists with significant and recent clinical experience and proven teaching/mentoring skills who wish to implement shpaclinCAT in their workplace.
Participants at this seminar will get an insight into the national drivers for competency-based evaluations, understand how to use the shpaclinCAT in practice and receive training in feedback and evaluation techniques. Implementation strategies that can be used at individual sites will be discussed during the course of this highly interactive weekend.
shpaclinCAT seminars are offered on a regional basis to support local networks and are scheduled according to interest. Places are strictly limited to optimise participation and facilitate networking.

- preparatory coursework (including pre-reading and a self-assessment exercise),
- attendance at the face-to-face seminar,
- trial evaluation at the workplace with a buddy, and
- three shpaclinCAT workplace evaluations to be undertaken within six months of attending the seminar.

For shpaclinCAT trained evaluators
The shpaclinCAT Feedback Master Class is a one-day intensive program for shpaclinCAT evaluators who have undertaken at least 5-6 shpaclinCAT evaluations in the workplace and wish to improve their feedback skills.
Participants will discuss challenging feedback situations that have occurred in practice and will learn communication methods to handle them more effectively. Techniques to encourage pharmacists follow through on agreed CPD plans will also be covered. Participants will need to complete a pre-seminar survey and be prepared to participate in group discussion with their peers.
