We have 18 pharmacists (Director, Deputy Director, four Senior Pharmacists and specialist pharmacists) with 4 pharmacy technicians. The Pharmacy Department has a friendly, supportive environment and actively supports the provision of patient-centred care.

We provide pharmacy services across all areas in the health service but specifically to these areas: Obstetrics, Neonatal Intensive and Special Care Nurseries, Genetics, Gynaecology, Gynae-oncology, Outpatients, Clinical trials and research, Clinical service to Frances Perry House (private hospital), Quality and Safety Unit.

The department provides specialised medicines information in women’s health specifically on medicines use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The department produces the Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Medicines Guide – a concise and valuable reference for doctors, pharmacists, midwives and any other professionals involved in the care of pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Research is a very vital component of our clinical activities as we strive to provide quality and evidence-based practices. The pharmacy supports all clinical trials and research involving medicines.
